"My current series delves into the history of Native American art, exploring Flat Style. This artistic approach is often considered the first of contemporary Indigenous art form, developed in the early 1920s in San Ildefonso Pueblo art school, then Dorothy Dunn’s school in Santa Fe and finally Bacone College in Oklahoma. The work has evoked discussion on cultural evolution, artistic identity, and provides nuance to the ongoing dialogue between tradition and innovation in the Native American art market."
